Where to Eat in Cam Lâm: A Culinary Tour

Having been asked by a friend what to eat and drink when visiting Cam Lâm, Khánh Hòa, I sat down and compiled a list of some of the spots our team has frequented over the past few years. Most of these great Cam Lâm dining locations are concentrated in the district center, making them close to each other and easily accessible from the famous Bãi Dài tourist area—just a 10-15 minute scooter ride away.

BREAKFAST

1. Phở Phú (Next to Cam Đức Market Gate, on National Highway 1A): This is a famous phở spot known for its incredibly high-quality beef. I’d rate their beef as the softest and most delicious in the whole area. It’s an old, well-established brand in Cam Đức, and you’ll often see locals returning from afar rushing here for a taste of home!

2. Hủ Tiếu Nam Vang Tùng (22 Trần Tế Xương, Cam Đức, Cam Lâm): Contact: 093 755 7772. This place offers a variety of noodle dishes, including seafood Hủ Tiếu, Nam Vang Hủ Tiếu, pork rib Hủ Tiếu, and Mì Hoành Thánh (Wonton Noodles). A must-try specialty is their Dry Hủ Tiếu!

3. BÁNH BÈO NÓNG

Hot Bánh Bèo (Steamed Rice Cakes) (15-20k/portion): Available morning and afternoon.

Tip: They also sell Nem Phần (fermented pork roll served with rice paper) in the afternoon (40k/portion). Contact for delivery: 0968 164 007 (Thái Thủy).

LUNCH

1. Quán Bến Phà and Quán Biển Rừng: These restaurants specialize in seafood. They are large, long-standing establishments often frequented by locals and travelers passing through from Nha Trang. Their prime location at the four corners of the Cầu Mới (New Bridge) over Thủy Triều Lagoon gives them a beautiful, airy view of the lagoon.

Service Hours: Monday – Sunday, 9:00 AM – 10:00 PM.

2. Cơm Niêu (Claypot Rice) at White Sand Cam Ranh Hotel: If you’re tired of seafood and craving a simple yet fulfilling meal of rice and soup, head to this spot inside the White Sand Cam Ranh Hotel complex, right next to Cầu Mới. Travelers we’ve sent here consistently give great feedback on food quality, pricing, and service. They serve both family and group meals.

4. CƠM NIÊU VĨNH LỢI

CƠM NIÊU VĨNH LỢI: Another fantastic claypot rice option located on Đinh Tiên Hoàng Street. The Admin (of the original blog) highly recommends this spot. It’s delicious, easy to find, and sits right on Cam Lâm’s busiest street (opposite Thời Bình Hotel). They even have a new VIP room area.

5. BÃI DÀI TƯ HẢI: Seafood right on the Bãi Dài beach, at the foot of Cù Hin Pass. The perfect spot to eat, play, and swim all day! They specialize in premium seafood like lobster, snails, geoduck (Tu Hài), shrimp, clams, oysters, and groupers. Free parking is available.

6. QUÁN GÀ NGON CÂY XOÀI – CAM ĐỨC

QUÁN GÀ NGON CÂY XOÀI (Delicious Chicken at the Mango Tree) – CAM ĐỨC: Open daily from noon to 9 PM. A spacious, airy garden-style restaurant among mango trees.

Address: Lê Thị Hồng Gấm Street, Cam Đức. They serve delicious, tender free-range chicken and various pigeon dishes. A well-known spot among locals.

DINNER

1. Lẩu cá thác lác (Clown Knifefish Hotpot) with Pigeon: A specialty available in the evening.

3. XOÀI BBQ. QA beautiful restaurant specializing in grilled dishes, particularly natural fish sourced from Bãi Dài and Thủy Triều Lagoon, as well as grilled beef. The location is easy to find near Cầu Mới and has car parking.

4. QUÁN TRANG – BÁNH CANH CUA & BÚN RIÊU CUA (Crab Noodle Soup & Crab Vermicelli)

Bonus: The owner sometimes makes Xu Xoa (a chilled seaweed jelly dessert) to beat the summer heat!

5. QUÁN LẨU BÒ CÂY MÍT CAM ĐỨC (Beef Hotpot at the Jackfruit Tree)

Hours: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM.

Address: 68 Võ Thị Sáu, Cam Lâm Commune. This place is famous for its great beef hotpot in Cam Đức. Warning: If you arrive after 5 PM without a reservation, you might not get food! Call ahead.

6. BẠN TUI QUÁN – QUÁN ĂN ĐƯỢC LAI RAI ĐƯỢC

(My Friend’s Restaurant): A cool, comfortable spot perfect for family dinners or a relaxed round of drinks with friends. The kitchen is reliable, and they often update their menu with new, delicious local dishes. Great for tourists looking for authentic local cuisine at reasonable prices.

STREET FOOD & SNACKS

1. Cam Đức Town Park (on National Highway 1A): Head here in the evening for a vibrant atmosphere! You’ll find a full range of snacks, drinks, lemon tea, sugarcane juice, and smoothies. There’s also a children’s play area.

2. Grilled Banana Sweet Soup & Grilled Corn (at Cam Đức Market): Located at the beginning of Bà Huyện Thanh Quan Street (the side street of Cam Đức Market). Open in the cool afternoon. Insider Tip: Their corn sweet soup is unbeatable!

3. Flan Cake and Ice Cream: A beloved childhood spot for Cam Lâm locals, right next to the Cao Đài Temple (Thánh Thất Cam Thành Bắc). They only sell in the afternoon and evening.

5. Bánh Xèo Chảo (Sizzling Crepes): A crispy rice flour crepe, larger and richer than bánh căn, filled with bean sprouts, quail eggs, shrimp, meat, and chives. Served with fresh herbs and a savory dipping sauce.

6. Bánh Căn (Mini Savory Pancakes): Made from rice flour, filled with shrimp, quail eggs, squid, minced meat, and served with fried shallots, sweet fish sauce, fermented fish sauce (mắm nêm), diced green mango, kohlrabi, and chili.

1. Dream Coffee.

Quality drinks, air-conditioned seating, and a frequently updated menu. They have two locations:

• My favorite order: An Americano or a Peach Blueberry Smoothie!

2. Joie Cafe And More. (70 Nguyễn Du Street, Cam Đức Town). I highly recommend this spot for its beautiful, spacious decor and decent drinks. Car parking is available.

3. Đủng Đỉnh Coffee & More. “A green oasis of plants and leaves.” A spacious, cool location (Lý Thái Tổ Street, Cam Đức Town). Great coffee, and the owner’s passion for ornamental plants makes the space lush and refreshing. – Google maps location here: http://bit.ly/3paLxB0).

4. My’s Corner – Góc của My: A cute, small spot offering a unique experience. You can enjoy drinks and snacks while participating in creative activities like painting and statue coloring (great for kids!).

5. Mojito’s lounge & bar: Located inside Mia Resort on Cù Hin Pass, which connects Nha Trang and Cam Lâm. It offers light drinks with a stunning, elevated ocean view. As it’s inside a 5-star resort, prices are slightly higher, but the exclusive atmosphere is worth it.
